Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

How do I shut down an outdoor kitchen for winter?

Close the valve feeding that branch, open the fixtures out there, and let the line drain completely. If a plumber installed it correctly there is a dedicated valve and a drain point inside. Where there is not, adding them is far cheaper than opening a stone counter to repair a split line.

The irrigation backflow device cracked. Was that the freeze?

Almost certainly, since those assemblies sit above ground in brass and hold water that has nowhere to go. Shut the irrigation supply before the first hard night each year and insulate the assembly. A cracked device also has to be tested after replacement in most systems.

Does a pressure regulator have anything to do with burst pipes?

Indirectly. High incoming pressure stresses every joint, so a line already weakened by a freeze fails sooner. If fixtures bang when a faucet closes or a toilet fill valve keeps failing, have the regulator checked. It is a small part doing quiet work.

Who is responsible for the water line under my driveway?

You are. The utility's ownership stops at the meter and its curb stop, and everything from there to the house is the homeowner's, driveway or not. That is worth knowing before a leak sends water up through a seam in the concrete.
