Seasonal timing

About 46 days a year go above 90 degrees, and root growth toward a leaking joint runs strongest through that stretch, so backups tend to arrive in the back half of summer.

Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

The house was renovated. Does that mean the sewer line was replaced?

Rarely. Renovations stop at the foundation in most cases, and the buried lateral is left exactly as it was because it is expensive and out of sight. A camera run through the cleanout is the only way to know what you actually have.

How do I find where my sewer line runs across the yard?

A plumber pushes a camera with a transmitting head down the line and traces it from the surface, marking the path and the depth as it goes. That is done before any digging. Guessing from the location of the cleanout alone tends to be wrong once the line bends.

Can roots get into a newer plastic lateral?

Only where there is already an opening, such as a bad fitting, a crack from settlement or a poorly sealed connection at the main. Glued plastic gives them nothing on its own. If roots turn up in a newer line, the real finding is the defect that let them in.

Who is responsible for the tie-in at the public main?

Usually the homeowner up to and including the connection, with the utility owning the main itself, though the exact split varies by system. Confirm it before work is scheduled. That one phone call decides who permits the street cut and who pays for it.
