Waco's unique plumbing challenges

About 53 nights a year below freezing, when uninsulated crawlspace lines give out

The oldest blocks in town run plumbing decades older than the newer builds toward Bremen

Seasonal timing

A 32 degree January night is not severe by northern standards, and that is exactly the problem, because almost nothing here is built to shrug it off. Uninsulated runs against an exterior wall go first.

Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

A plumber snaked the line twice and the drain is still slow. Now what?

If the line comes back clear both times, the problem is upstream of the drain rather than in it. Venting and pipe slope are the two usual answers, and a camera run tells them apart. Repeating the snaking is the expensive way to learn the same thing.

Does cast iron drain pipe wear out?

It does, from the inside. Waste sits along the bottom of a horizontal run and eats the metal there first, so the pipe thins along the base while the top still looks fine. That is why an old stack can look solid and still be close to failing.

Sewage came up in the shower rather than the toilet. Why the lowest fixture?

Because water finds the lowest opening when the system cannot take it. A backup at a tub or floor drain rather than a toilet points past the fixture to the tank or the field. Stop running water in the house and have it inspected before anything else drains.

What paperwork should I keep for a septic system?

Keep the pumping records, any inspection report, and a sketch of where the tank and field lines run. It saves time on every future visit, and it is the first thing asked for if the house is sold. A photo of the open tank lid location is enough for the sketch.
